Syn Text Editor - Developers

The team

Danail Traichev: Danail joined Stefan August 2002.
He is the originator of many new functions in Syn, for example instant UI translation, custom parameters, contexts and modules, desktop files support, enhanced macro recording, command line bar. Since Stefan (see below) left the project, he now is the project admin.
He is currently searching for job and / or sponsorship for syn project.

Mathias Michel: Mathias joined the team as a developer in January 2003.
He is a long user of syn, and as Stefan says, we must thank him for lots of features and ideas, that makes Syn to be that good today.
Mathias is also the webmaster since June 2003.

Paul Gardner: Paul had a flying start in the syn development team in February 2005 with more than dozen additions and bugfixes.
He collects text editors as a hobby and came across Syn while looking for some new ones. Noticing that it was written in his favorite language, he decided to see if he could help. And he did it :-)

Former members


François Rivierre: François joined the team in Décember 2002.
New user of Syn, he decided to assume the rebuild and the development of the web site.
He was the original creator of the new syn site design and integrate its multilanguage functionality (extended, finished and supported later by Mathias).
François left the team in May 2003. Thank you for your support, François!
Stefan Ascher: Stefan is the project originator, and so he was the project leader. Since European Community voted Patent Law, Stefan stopped publishing and discontinued all published software. He drove syn near the end of syn 2.1 with new features like markers.
Thanks to him for all its open-source and open-mind work. :)

Christian Blackburn: Christian contributed some ideas and code to syn project.
